Ipswich City Council’s network of recreational bikeways continues to expand, increasingly to include off-road options.

The council recently released its ‘Cycle Ipswich’ brochure, which details seven recreational rides around Ipswich.

The jewel in Ipswich’s crown, the Brassall Bikeway, now features an off-shoot pump track, which is certain to be popular with a younger and more adventurous contingent of local bike riders.

The Mihi Junction pump track (pictured) is suitable for BMX and mountain bike riders, and is a great way to develop off-roads skills that can then be transferred to more adventurous trails nearby, such as the great network at Castle Hill.

Ipswich City has more to do in helping its population get on bikes for transport, but Bicycle Queensland is thrilled with these latest steps towards more people cycling more often.
