Join the Board of Bicycle Queensland

Are you passionate about making the world a better place by getting more people on bikes? If so, you may wish to consider joining the Board of Bicycle Queensland.

Bicycle Queensland (BQ) is a dynamic community organisation with a great record of advocacy and events, all directed at improving the well-being of Queenslanders and the health of our environment by getting more people riding more often.

Established in 1979, BQ has over 13,000 passionate members to whom it provides insurance, a sense of community, and the inspiration to get or keep riding.

These are voluntary positions with the board meeting in person, in Brisbane city, 6 times a year. Should a person from regional Queensland join, BQ will pay travel expenses.

Our high-level, volunteer Board is looking for new Directors, with a particular preference for potential members who:

  • Share our values, including a commitment to cycling as a driver of social change
  • Are strategic thinkers with governance or management experience
  • Understand the stakeholder landscape for not profit member organisation and the importance of funding sources and advocacy and social media profile in our success

In addition, we particularly desire skills in:

  • Accounting and risk management
  • Fundraising and events
  • IT and cyber security, and
  • Insurance

If this sounds like you, we would appreciate it if you could send a short cover letter and CV (no more than 2 pages) to companysecretary@bq.org.au
