Bicycle Queensland and the South Burnett Rail Trail Users Association are gearing up for another multi-day riding event, as BQ heads back to the South Burnett for another unforgettable Weekend at Wondai.

Running from Friday 23 April to Monday 26 April 2027, this long weekend is all about discovering one of Queensland’s best gravel and back road riding destinations. Whether you love rail trails, quiet country roads or scenic gravel adventures, Weekend at Wondai offers three days of supported riding with routes to suit a range of abilities and interests.

Ride sections of the spectacular South Burnett Rail Trail, explore peaceful backroads, or venture further afield to destinations including Gordonbrook Dam, Memerambi Springs, Cherbourg and other local highlights.

The Weekend at Wondai is about more than just time in the saddle. The South Burnett is packed with things to see and do, and riders can choose to explore local wineries, visit the powerful Ration Shed Museum at Cherbourg, discover the fascinating 40 Million Years Ago Museum, or soak up country hospitality throughout the region. Experience a Dawn Service in regional Queensland and enjoy the famous Wondai ANZAC Day Races, all making for a very memorable long weekend away.

You can choose to camp onsite with the event in Wondai or choose from one of the region’s accommodation options to create your own South Burnett getaway.

More details, ride options and entries will be released soon.

For now, lock 23–26 April 2027 into your calendar. We can’t wait to ride with you in Wondai.
