Save the date for April 25-27, as Bicycle Queensland rolls out the first multi-day event for 2025. We’ll be travelling to Wondai for three days of riding, festivities and sightseeing.
This is a 3-day event, and it will be held in conjunction with ANZAC Day celebrations and the famous Wondai Races. The Weekend at Wondai rides are best suited to a gravel bike, or an all-road bike that can fit 40mm tyres. Two of the optional rides will require a mountain bike, such as the Ration Shed ride and Gravel Loop 2.

All rides are listed with cue sheets and .gpx files on the South Burnett Rail Trail website.
What’s included for Weekend at Wondai
This is a full service event! Your entry includes breakfast from Friday April 25 through to lunch on Sunday April 27. Dinners are being provided by The Phat Wag, but you can request vegan, vegetarian or gluten free on sign up. Lunch is provided from Soul Moon Energy Cafe, and there will also be breakfast on site. The Phat Wag will even have sharing platters you can order for happy hour!

A campsite will be built at Wondai Wolves, right on the edge of Wondai. There are powered sites for caravans, flat grassy areas for tents, and of course flat areas for campervans. There is a large hall where meals will be served, and of course toilets and showers onsite. There will also be charging locations for e-bikes. The site is only a few hundred metres from the centre of Wondai if you would rather book accommodation – this will also be useful if you want to pick up some snacks from the IGA, or visit the art gallery or Timber Museum. Or even for taking part in the Wondai Park Run on Saturday!

In fact, there is a lot to do when you’re not riding. You can book in for the Moffatdale wine tasting. There’s plenty of ANZAC Day Ceremonies to attend, or of course the famous Wondai Races on Friday. BQ will be running a bike maintenance course you can sit in on, or you can take a look through the Art Gallery, or dig into the history at the Timber Museum.
For many, the real attraction will be the riding. Whether you stick to the sealed South Burnett Rail Trail, or explore the quiet country gravel roads and back roads is up to you. You may find your favourite ride is into McEuan State Forest for the MTB Skills session!
There is lots to do at Weekend at Wondai. Tickets are $330 for BQ Members, $400 for others and $110 for kids.
If you are interested in taking up a Bicycle Queensland membership you can sign up for 25% off during event registration – this may even make your event experience cheaper – while providing extensive bike riding insurance and many more benefits.
