That’s right – a brand new rail trail which follows the old Caboolture to Kilcoy railway corridor has fully opened in 2020. After the railway was close in 1964 it has now been turned into a tourism rich resource!
Extending from Beerburrum Road in Caboolture to Atwood Street in Wamuran this 10km (one way) trail showcases the history of the railway while also providing quality shared pathway.
You can do the ride in either direction and there is ample free parking at both ends. There is great end/beginning of trip shelters which include maps, drinking fountains, bike pumps and seating. The start at Beerburrum is also only a 3 minute bike ride from the Caboolture train station!
FOOD: CJ’s Pastries is the local spot – find it off the D’Aguilar Highway.
THINGS TO DO: If you’re in the area on the weekend be sure to check out the Caboolture Country Markets.
