A Hidden Treasure!

You can’t beat the beautiful location that is Mt Joyce! The 30 kilometres + of trails borders the picturesque Lake Wyaralong. This is the perfect spot for a weekend adventure with camping near by as well! Where you ask? Just over an hours drive South West from Brisbane and just outside Beaudesert is where you will find this special place.

Now – back to the trails! The Escape Park caters to most riders with a mix of green, blue and black diamond trails. The local company Brisbane Mountain Bike Shuttles can take the pain away from climbing to the views with shuttles on offer most weekends. Please note that the black diamond trails should only be attempted by experienced riders as they have large features & rocks. The popular “Bovine Groove” trail is one not to miss however & will suit most riders!

Daisy Hill Conservation Park

A Queensland Favourite!

Perhaps the perfect spot to begin one’s mountain biking adventure – Daisy Hill is a local favourite. With flat but entertaining trails you can spend hours honing your skills among the 20+ kilometres of trails.

Some of the best trails for beginners to check out are; “Lace Monitor” & “Possum Box” while the more advanced riders can find a challenge on the black diamond “Nirvana”.

The Daisy Hill trails can be accessed from various entrances with the main entrance found at the end of Daisy Hill Road. You will find toilets & bike facilities here. The other popular entrance is at the end of Underwood Road at the duck pond.

Cornubia Forest Park

Another South Coast Favourite!

Does 15km of single track just 25 minutes from the Brisbane CBD sound good to you? Well then, get your riding kit on & your bike on the car & head to Cornubia Forest Park for your next riding adventure.

With links now to both Daisy Hill & Bayview Conservation Park you can ride for as little or as long as you like at Cornubia. It’s fast becoming a popular destination with it’s mixture of green, blue and black trails – there’s something for everyone.

Best parking can be found at the end of Kimberly Drive where you’ll cross the gateway into the network of more than 14 trails.

Bayview Conservation Park

XC Riders where are you?

Nestled in the Redland Shire you will find a well maintained & loved trail network. Home to the RATS Cycling Club the park has seen numerous new trails, car park & facility upgrades in the past few years. Now with BBQ facilities, picnic tables, toilets and water taps – it’s a great place to bring the family!

With now over 30 trails to explore, Bayview is well known for the venue for XC races. With some decent peddling involved but some great decents this really is the XC riders playground!

Best parking is off German Church Road & we highly recommend riding “Sorceress”!

Scribbly Gums

Redlands Track Park

An urban mountain bikers dream awaits at Scribbly Gums. Find 152 hectares of open park which includes the perfect beginner level trails. With over 30 green & blue trails this is a popular spot for kids & those new to the sport to build up skill & fitness. Another bonus is the park is relatively flat so no ridiculous climbs!

Castle Hill/Blackstone Hill

Explore Ipswich’s Mining History

Rich in local history, Castle Hill has become a local hot spot for Enduro style riding in South East Queensland. You will find remains of a large three story mansion that was built on top of the hill. Work has been progressing in 2020 on a new skills/trials area with toilet facilities as well.

While some trails do cater for beginners, most are predominately blue or black diamond and require a high level of skill & fitness. Expect big rocks, sharp turns and loose dirt. But don’t get us wrong – it’s a heap of fun!

Bunyaville Conservation Park

The Famous “Jinker Track”

Often the go too spot for people getting into mountain bike riding – Bunya has it all. The 22km + trail network is easy to navigate and provides hours of entertainment. Depending on the trail you can find roots, rocks, creek beds, jumps and berms out at Bunya.

You can start your ride from any of the 3 car parks off the Jinker Track Road. Some must do trails include “Wayne’s World” & “Creek Track”.

Ironbark Gully

Samford Conservation Park is the place to be!

Located on Brisbane’s North Side this park has some great trails loved by locals. Not only does the park have 4 brilliant descending trails but the main attraction is often the great skills park area. Popular with kids learning how to ride & those practicing jumping techniques you will often find families & riders of all ages & abilities.

Be sure to check out the flow trail “Kombi” you’re sure to enjoy the berms. For those looking for something more technical or some gap jumps the new “Whip Snake” trail is sure to impress.

Be prepared for a steep fire road climb for the meantime until the new up trail is due for completion in early 2021. If the hills are too hard you can shuttle the trails by driving to the top of Mailmans Track/Bygotts Road. For a more in depth explanation of routes to follow visit Queensland’s Parks website.
